The concept of a GAP Year is becoming increasingly popular among young people. This is where a school leaver takes time out to do some personal growth or interest study or community service work, before moving on to face the rigours of university study or demands of the workforce. Particpating in a GAP Year program has been proven to increase the success rate of students in their university studies as well as assisitng them to adapt to the challenges of the adult workforce.

At Unity College students can undertake a GAP Year by enrolling in the first year of a chosen course, incorporating a selected mix of subjects and focussing on areas of particular interest. GAP Year subjects cover personal and Christian growth, communication and teamwork skills and Biblical worldview. The year includes a number of fieldwork mission and ministry trips.
