Darwin Mission Trip - Bagot Blitz!

Unity College

A team of 14 Canberra Campus staff and students participated in our mission trip to Darwin's Bagot Indigenous Community in August. Our goals were to serve the people of the community and support the leaders of the Bagot Victory Indigenous Church which is based in the community, as well as to learn about cross-cultural mission work.

We did this through practical and pastoral activities in the community, including a complete clean up and repaint of the community's mission house - dubbed the Bagot Blitz! - made possible by the donation of materials by a number of Darwin businesses, including Bunnings, Top End Hire, Nippon and Wattyl Paints. Other activities included children's ministry, puppet plays, music training, Bible studies, prayer walking, community barbeques, church services and hospital visiting.

A number of fundraising activities helped raise finances and as a result we were able to donate a portable sound system to the community, provided at a very generously discounted price by Pro Audio in Canberra. To everyone who supported the trip in prayer, financially and/or being involved in any of our fundraising activities - we say "Thank You".
