Unity College Australia offers specialised creative arts training from a Christian perspective. Our creative ministry subjects, programs and courses include music, dance, audio engineering and event production, all coming from a heart of worship. We will prepare you for involvement in worship ministry and arts performance both in your church and the wider community. 

Training with Unity College, you will develop your skills in worship, communication, management and leadership in the arts. You will have opportunity to minister and perform in a range of church and worship events.

The Unity College Music School provides tuition in a range of instruments and voice for children and adults. Our tutors will help the Classically trained musician transition to contemporary styles. Whether you want to develop your vocal or instrumental skills, understand the theory behind the music, learn to work in a worship team or band, or learn how to operate the sound equipment, Unity is the place to come. Do a single subject or a whole course!

Creative Ministries/Music Programs and Courses

The Creative Ministries Programs at Unity College combine the study of Music courses with Ministry and Theology subjects, and have a Christian focus in terms of content and application.

Full-time students study the Certificate IV in Music course as part of the Certificate Level Creative Ministries Program. Students completing the first year of study will also obtain a Certificate III in Christian Ministry and Theology.

Students undertaking the Diploma of Music course on a full-time basis can select to study additional Ministry and Theology subjects to also complete a Certificate IV in this course area.

The programs include instrumental and vocal tution, music theory development, music industry knowledge, communication skills and a range of electives. Students apply music skills in ensembles and undertake performance and ministry opportunities in a range of contexts including concerts, worship events and short-term mission trips.

Part-time students can apply to undertake the Certificate IV and Diploma of Music courses separately to the Christian Ministry and Theology subjects.

This one year full-time course, which is based on the nationally accredited Music training Package CUS09, has a strong focus on the development of musical skills with application to Christian ministry.  Students will be required to select a major area of study and will also have access to a wide range of electives.  The course will also help you grow in your Christian faith.

Diploma of Music (CUS50109)  [More information on PDF] 

This course, based on the nationally accredited Music Training Package CUS09, is designed to provide students with a focus on further developing and applying contemporary music skills in Christian worship, ministry, outreach and industry contexts.  An additional stream of study can also be undertaken to enable students to achieve a Certificate IV in Christian Ministry and Theology as well.  The course is one year in length if studied full time.

Dance

 

Certificate IV in Creative Ministries  (Dance) (80812ACT)*  [More information PDF]

This course is being offered in an on-line distance mode in conjunction with the International Christian Dance Fellowship with members in over 40 nations. Practical dance skills will be undertaken in the location where the student resides.

*This course is being replaced by a dual qualification one of which is pending government approval.

Drama

 

Drama courses are offered through our training partner Canberra Academy of Dramatic Arts who provide training in a broad industry context.  Courses available include:
